Raiders hire Saunders as offensive coordinator
The Oakland Raiders have hired Al Saunders to be their next offensive coordinator, taking over for Hue Jackson.
Saunders spent the past couple of seasons with the Baltimore Ravens as an offensive consultant.
He is known as one of the brightest offensive minds in the game but had trouble finding another job after an ugly stint with the Washington Redskins.
He is best known for his success with the Kansas City Chiefs when they put up a bunch of points behind quarterback Trent Green, running back Priest Holmes and tight end Tony Gonzalez.
It’s somewhat surprising he would be willing to take a job with the Raiders and owner Al Davis, but he must have been really desperate to get back into coaching on the sidelines.
